Miss Augusta, Augusta’s premier dining vessel, is excited to cruise the Missouri River. Miss Augusta is currently recruiting for the position of Cook. All food is cooked and prepared fresh on board. Looking for someone with creative ideas and who can work alongside our head chef to continue to provide a first-class dining experience on the water. Duties include performing daily culinary responsibilities, preparing food for brunch, lunch and dinner cruises, as well as private functions. Must be able to manage timing, quantities, and multiple tasks. Creativity is key and being able to work alongside and provide support in the kitchen role. Also, must be a self-starter and motivated to run cruises on own.
Must have the ability to prepare and cook food according to recipes and quality standards, with the opportunity for some personal creativity to create menus year-round for events held on the boat. Duties may also include interacting with customers, bartending and other front of the house duties as needed. Responsible for hygiene and maintaining food standards in all stages of food handling. Serv Safe certified is required.
Must be a self-starter, problem solver, and work well with fellow team members. Position is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the kitchen from start to finish. Ideal candidate is someone friendly and personable with guests, enthusiastic, driven, and passionate about the service industry. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully assist in delivering outstanding service is essential to the role.
Candidate must pass pre-employment background and drug screen and remain drug free, as all employees are a part of the maritime consortium and will be randomly tested throughout the year. Hours vary and include days, evenings, and holidays. Experience in restaurant kitchen required.
