David Hoffmann is an entrepreneur and philanthropist. As the founder and chairman of the Hoffmann Family of Companies, he oversees a family-owned network of enterprises employing more than 9,000 employees. The Hoffmann Family of Companies includes more than 100 distinct brands in 30 countries.
In 1989, Mr. Hoffmann founded DHR International (now known as DHR Global) and grew it to one of the largest privately held executive search firms in the industry. Osprey Capital, LLC, the private equity investment firm he founded shortly after DHR Global, has matured into one of the largest family offices in the world and a vital engine for the Hoffmann family’s philanthropic efforts. Hoffmann Commercial Real Estate manages U.S. real estate assets worth more than $1 billion and has played a significant role in revitalizing communities in Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Colorado, Missouri and elsewhere.
In recognition of his considerable success in the face of adversity, Mr. Hoffmann earned a Horatio Alger Award in 2023. He also received an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from the University of Central Missouri, his alma mater. He appeared on the Forbes Billionaires List in 2022 and 2023.
David Hoffmann has contributed to numerous charitable causes across the United States, particularly in his native Missouri and his adopted home state of Florida. Among other fine organizations, he and Mrs. Hoffmann are supporters of JDRF (the juvenile diabetes research institution), the Boys and Girls Club of Naples, the Everglades Foundation, and the Children’s Home & Aid Society. He remains a member of the board of the Naples Children & Education Foundation, a charity for vulnerable families in southwest Florida.
Mr. Hoffmann has three children and 12 grandchildren.
